Welcome to Year 3!

Happy new year to you all!  We hope that you had a wonderful Christmas holiday.  The children have settled well into what is sure to be another busy ter.  Hopefully you will have received a welcome letter and subject overviews through satchel post.
Here is a little reminder of what we shall continue to be doing regularly each week;
Monday:      - Literacy and numeracy homework set,
                  - Spellings and times tables given
Wednesday: -  Opportunity to change library books
Thursday:    -  P.E. with Mr Rickard and Miss Murray or Rossi
Friday:         - Spelling and times tables test
                   - Homework due in
Please could the children bring in a water bottle each day - learning is thirsty work you know!
Just to remind you that the first of our Year 3 trips will take place on Friday 26th January.  We shall be taking the children to the Hall for Cornwall to see 'Awful Auntie' by David Walliams.  We will also visit Truro Cathedral on this day.  The children will need to wear school uniform and bring a coat and packed lunch on this day please.
Further dates to put in your diary are:
Friday 27th January -  Teeth and Eating plaque investigation. Bring a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Tuesday 30th January- Making accessories for Roman Day
Tuesday 6th January - Roman Day Banquet
Wednesday 7th February - Trip to St Michael's Church, Porthilly
We are always grateful for any help that you wish to offer in school, particularly with hearing children read, working with children on their times tables, or any other support that you wish to give in class.  Even if you cannot offer a regular slot each week, any time you can spare would be wonderful!
As ever, if there is anything you wish to ask or discuss, please pop into the classroom in the morning or after school.
Many thanks in advance for your support,
Rachel Gregson and Sally Hewitt (Class teachers)
Mary Drummond-Dunn, Trease Fletcher and Andrea Jago (Class teaching assistants)
