Our first day in Year 2. We thought about our school motto 'Be Brave, Be Kind, Belong'.
We received some special messages from our class mascot 'Twit Twoo'.
We read each message carefully and had to decide if it would make Twit Twoo happy or sad.
We enjoyed using the iPads to create a fact file about ourselves using the book creator app.
We had fun using the camera tool to take a selfie.

Did you know that Class 2 would rather take a swim in jelly than in jam?
Class 2's top colour is blue and their favourite ice cream is bubblegum flavour. Yum Yum!

We have been learning all about the famous landmarks in London.
We used the iPads to help us draw pictures of the different famous landmarks in London.
We used an artists pencil to sketch our chosen landmark.

We really enjoyed watching some clips from the Paddington movie to help us with our writing. The bath scene was our favourite part.
There was lots of laughter watching this scene which led to some great writing. Well done Class 2!
We enjoyed using the iPads during our maths lesson to order numbers.
We ordered numbers from smallest to largest and largest to smallest.
We looked at the tens digit first to help us order our numbers. We then looked at the ones digit if two numbers had the same number of tens.
Class 2 have written some brilliant found posters for Paddington bear. They used some great adjectives to describe Paddington.

We have created our own class map of London and have added our drawings of the different landmarks to our display.
We have been learning lots of interesting facts about our capital city, London.
We carefully cut out different facts about London and matched them up. Did you know that the Crown Jewels are kept in the Tower of London?
We have been learning to the use the compass to navigate around the different landmarks in London.
We used the words North, East, South and West to write directions to visit the different landmarks.
In maths we have been learning to partition 2 digit numbers into different combinations of tens and ones.
We used base ten to help us find different combinations of tens and ones for each 2 digit number.
We were great at spotting patterns in our number sentences as we recorded the different add ups on our whiteboards.
We have been learning to recall all of the add ups which make 10.
We have learnt how to record all of the add ups for 10 in a systematic way. We can represent them using the bar model.
We can also represent the add ups which make ten by using the part, part, whole model.
We have been learning to create a map of London using the book creator app on the iPads.
We used the draw tool to add the River Thames and a compass to our map.
We added photographs and labels of the different landmarks in London to our map.
We have been 'mini teachers' helping our friends to add photographs of the different landmarks to their maps of London.
We thought of a title, a question to engage the reader and wrote a statement explaining our map.

We enjoyed using pastels to create a sunset background for our London Silhouette.
We thought carefully about the different colours we might see in a sunset.
We blended the different shades of red, orange and yellow together to create our sunset.
Next we carefully blended different shades of blue to create the river for our London Silhouette.
We are looking forward to seeing what our final piece of artwork looks like.
