At St Minver School, we intend to provide all pupils with a high-quality Modern Foreign Languages education that fosters curiosity, broadens horizons and develops an appreciation of different cultures and the wider world. We believe that learning a foreign language equips pupils with valuable communication skills, enhances their understanding of language and prepares them to become confident, culturally aware global citizens.

French is taught as our chosen modern foreign language throughout Key Stage 2, with all pupils in Years 3 to 6 receiving weekly French lessons. Through engaging and progressive learning experiences, pupils develop the knowledge, vocabulary and confidence needed to communicate in French while gaining a deeper understanding of the language, traditions and culture of French-speaking countries.
